POKOTABI / Sushidokoro Uta
すし処 詩
Located in Ikebukuro 3-chome, Sushidokoro Uta serves omakase courses weaving together sashimi assortments and nigiri, paired with attentive hospitality and sake poured into wine glasses.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Tucked into a quiet corner of Ikebukuro 3-chome, Sushidokoro Uta is a sushi restaurant where diners can enjoy vibrant sashimi and carefully shaped sushi in a relaxed setting. The centerpiece of the evening menu is an omakase progression moving smoothly through an assortment of sashimi, small seasonal dishes, and nigiri. Guests can choose a course according to the occasion, ranging from an easygoing 5-dish plan to the standard 7-dish menu, or an indulgent 9-dish course that includes grilled fish and dessert.
After appreciating the depth of fresh fish through generous sashimi cuts, the meal transitions to nigiri, where well-portioned sushi rice blends seamlessly with the topping. The meal can be personalized with à la carte additions such as richly filled chawanmushi custard, favorite pieces of nigiri, or slender sushi rolls. The beverage selection is equally thoughtful: sake poured into wine glasses to release its aroma, draft beer, whisky, and shochu all provide fitting companions to each course.
Seating options include counter spots with a clear view of the chef's craft as well as tatami zashiki tables, wrapped in friendly, unpretentious hospitality. Along with dinner services starting in the evening, the restaurant hangs its noren curtain for lunch on Sundays; reservations in advance are recommended for a leisurely evening meal.
